Associate/Affiliate Membership

The primary purpose of associate (individual) and affiliate (business) membership is to encourage allied health professionals to become involved in the Alliance, to work towards improving primary health care outcomes in the region through improved linkages and communication between health care providers. A range of advantages exist for associate and affiliate members.

This class of membership is intended to be available to people who do not meet the criteria to qualify as an ordinary member, but who wish to be involved with or receive services from the Alliance.

Associate and affiliate members currently pay a fee for membership. Any fee for associate and affiliate membership, and the nature of the services to be provided to associate and affiliate members, may be determined by the Board from time to time.

The Board may set additional criteria for associate and affiliate membership from time to time. Currently, the Board intends associate and affiliate membership to be taken up by people who do not qualify as ordinary members, but who are involved in the provision of health services. However, the Board may vary that intention and set any criteria for associate and affiliate membership from time to time.

Associate and affiliate members are not voting members.

A high priority at SEA-GP (Brisbane) is to continue developing strong networks within the health care profession via formal and informal gatherings.
A great strength of the Alliance is the involvement and interaction of members at the local level. This allows the flow of information to be focussed on the issues affecting the primary health care arena in the inner south region.
The Alliance offers its members opportunities to attend formal and informal networking and educational events scheduled year round. These events provide real and varied opportunities to network and up skill; to build primary health care connections and most importantly, interact with GPs and other allied health professionals who share similar challenges.

Your membership will also widen your referral basis through greater exposure to and contact with local GPs through Alliance activities and the SEA-GP (Brisbane) Allied Health Associate and Affiliate Membership Database.

Regular updates and fax outs together with the SEA-GP (Brisbane) bi-monthly newsletter SEAbreeze, will ensure you are on top of what's happening in the Alliance and at regional, state and national levels.

Associate Member

Associate membership of SEA-GP (Brisbane) offers practising allied health professionals an opportunity to develop and /or improve networks with GPs and other allied health professionals.

SEA-GP (Brisbane) Board – Assessment of Membership Applications

The SEA-GP (Brisbane) Board of Directors will assess all membership applications for approval. Under the Rules of Association the Board has the right to refuse any applications they deem to be unsuitable applicants. The Board may also terminate any membership if that membership is deemed to have a negative impact on the Alliance. The decisions however, will not contravene any common law or other government legislation.

Renewal notices will be forwarded 1 month prior to the expiry of your annual subscription.

Affiliate Member

This category of membership is for businesses, employing three (3) or more allied health professionals, who want to add GP networking and develop general practice partnerships to their business structure.

SEA-GP (Brisbane) is committed to providing allied health businesses access to primary health care resources, research, training, and the opportunity to network with GPs and peers. Affiliate membership will create opportunities for you and your allied health employees to attend the Alliance workshops, seminars and GP events, and to be kept abreast of current health trends in primary health care.

Subscription Fees

Affiliate membership rates are determined by the number of employees in your business. Membership can be as low as $286 (GST incl.) per year for a business with less than seven (7) employees. To find out what the subscription rate would be for your business, refer to the Affiliate Membership Fee Schedule below or call the Membership Services Consultant on (07) 3390 2466.
