SEA-GP (Brisbane) is established with the purpose of promoting the prevention and control of disease in humans, through:
Assisting all members of general practices to enhance their skills, through the provision of appropriate information, training and education:
Conduct research, particularly scientifically based evaluation of community medicine, and to assist general practitioners to apply research in the context of general practice;
Liaise more effectively with other general practitioners, other health professionals, health services and community groups, and related organisations for the benefit of the community; and
Advance the standards of care provided through general practice.
Assisting other health care providers in similar ways to those contemplated above and through application of the above.
Promoting community awareness of disease and the prevention of illness.
One of the Alliance’s main strategies to achieve these goals is to maximise partnership opportunities through a range of formal partnership agreements with existing and new partners.
There are opportunities for full membership for general practitioners, associate or affiliate membership for allied health professionals and associate membership for GPs from outside the Alliance’s geographical boundaries.
